My "Ride or Die" Makeup!

It's no secret that I absolutely love makeup. I have never been good at drawing or painting, so makeup is definitely my art form of choice. The fact that there are so many makeup brands and products out there can be a bit overwhelming at times. There's so much experimenting and testing to be done to find out what the "best of the best" is. Compared to most beauty bloggers, I haven't tried out a lot of products; however, I have tested enough to determine what I believe can be labeled as "the best." Makeup artist and YouTuber Jaclyn Hill created a video called "The Ride or Die Makeup Tag, encouraging others to share what their absolute favorite, "cannot live without" makeup products are in several categories. I think it's a fun idea and decided I would share mine. So without further ado, here they are...

PRIMER: Smashbox Photo Finish Pore Minimizing Foundation Primer. I have oily skin with very visible pores on and around my nose. This primer works perfectly to combat those issues and creates a really smooth base for my foundation.

FOUNDATION: Smashbox Studio Skin 15 Hour Wear Hydrating Foundation. In addition to fighting my oily skin and large pores, I really need a product that will cover my pesky acne spots and scarring. This foundation does exactly that whilst also being super long wearing. I don't have to worry about this foundation wearing off throughout my long work days and it looks flawless and natural on the skin. 5/5 from me!

CONCEALER: Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle Treatment Concealer (in Brightener) and Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer. I chose two concealers for this category because they both serve different purposes. I use the Maybelline concealer to cover my dark circles and to brighten under the eyes. It gets the job done perfectly and blends like a dream. I use the Urban Decay concealer to cover up blemishes and imperfections. This product is so lightweight, but the coverage is still amazing. You can't even tell it's there!

FACE POWDER/UNDER EYE SETTING POWDER: RCMA No Color Powder. There is a reason that everyone raves about this powder. It is such a universal product and you get such a large amount for the price! I use this powder to set my foundation and depending on how much of a matte look I want, I can layer it on without it looking cakey. This powder also works amazingly for baking for that exact reason. It was also created to be a photo friendly product because it doesn't cause that annoying flashback issue a lot of powders do.

BLUSH: Charlotte Tilbury Cheek to Chic Blush (in Love Glow). Charlotte Tilbury is known as the UK Queen of makeup. Her makeup line is simply amazing and her blush is one of the best makeup products I have ever used. It creates such a natural flush of color and lasts a really long time. Who wouldn't love that?

BRONZER (not pictured): Urban Decay Beached Bronzer (in Sun-Kissed). I have always had trouble with bronzers. A lot of them make me breakout for some reason and I'm not sure why. However, this bronzer doesn't cause that problem and it is such a beautiful product. I use it to bronze all over the face and it creates that "kissed by the sun" look that a good bronzer should.

CONTOUR: Fiona Stiles Sheer Sculpting Palette. This palette makes contouring so simple. It blends effortlessly and the shades are perfect for getting that chiseled look whilst still looking natural.

HIGHLIGHT: I'm honestly still looking for my "holy grail" highlight. If anyone has any recommendations, let me know!

EYELINER (not pictured): Kat Von D Tattoo Liner (in Trooper). I've always struggled with eyeliner, but this product makes it so much easier to get the perfect wing and it stays put all day too!

MASCARA: Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara. A good mascara is a very essential product for me because I have blonde, short eyelashes. I need something that will create volume, length, and make my lashes stand out, This mascara really gets the job done and it doesn't flake off or smear throughout the day. Is it actually better than sex? That's for you to decide, lol.

LIPSTICK (not pictured): NARS Audacious Lipstick. These lipsticks are everything you could want and more in a lipstick. They're creamy, long lasting, and very pigmented. The shade Brigette is my personal favorite of the bunch.

LIQUID LIPSTICK: I honestly hate liquid lipstick. My lips are always pretty dry so I try to stay as far away from liquid lipstick as possible. Until I can find one that is moisturizing and long lasting at the same time, I'm gonna pass.

LIP GLOSS (not pictured): I'm not a huge lip gloss fan but the Too Faced Sweet Peach Creamy Lip Oils are really great. They aren't sticky and make your lips look "oh so luscious."

LASHES: I do not like fake lashes. I'm horrible at applying them and I don't like the way the feel. Sorry.

EYESHADOW PRIMER: Wet n' Wild Photo Focus Eyeshadow Primer. This primer is so affordable and works just as well as the Urban Decay primers. 'Nuff said.

EYESHADOW PALETTE: Any of the Too Faced palettes. My personal favorites are the Chocolate Bar Palette and the Sweet Peach Palette. Too Faced does Eyeshadows so well. They are always so pigmented and blendable. They also smell amazing too which is a lovely bonus.

SETTING SPRAY: Wet n' Wild Photo Focus Setting Spray. This setting spray is amazing, price and quality wise. It locks my makeup in all day and creates a nice finish to the look.

I hope this post helped you with finding some great products. Let me know some of your "Ride or Die" products in the comments below!
